But here's where it got spicy. I didn’t just support JPEGs and PNGs like every other converter out there. Oh no. I went full hipster. I added support for exotic formats. And I mean exotic. We’re talking .HEIC from your iPhone that your Windows PC refuses to open. .WEBP that makes you question your life choices. And then... the crown jewel—medical DICOM files.
Yep. While my friends were building yet another to-do list app, I was sitting there thinking, "You know what would be cool? Converting a CT scan into a regular picture." Because apparently, that’s how my brain works.
And honestly? It was a blast. I built a clean, minimal interface—no flashy animations, no dancing unicorns. Just upload, click, download. Easy. The backend does all the heavy lifting while you sit back and sip your coffee. It also grabs the metadata (patient name, scan type, etc.) because why not show off a little?
Defending this project was actually fun. Instead of the usual nerve-wracking interrogation, the committee got genuinely curious—especially about the medical part. They asked smart questions, I gave (hopefully) smart answers, and the room felt more like a tech meetup than an exam.
When they gave me the highest grade, I genuinely smiled. Not because I got an A, but because something I built—something that started as a lazy idea—could genuinely help people. Whether it’s a student trying to open a weird image or a doctor sharing a scan with a colleague.
So yeah. That’s my story. No drama. No sleepless nights full of panic. Just a solid tool, a bit of curiosity, and a happy ending that even Hollywood would approve of. And the best part? It’s free. Always will be. Because some things are too good to put behind a paywall.
