Clinch
Recover Shopify sales. Know if your offers really work.
Clinch shows a one-time offer when a shopper is about to leave your Shopify store, on the product they were viewing. Each code is unique and single-use, limiting coupon sharing, and no email is required. Unlike typical exit-intent apps, Clinch uses a randomized holdout group to measure whether offers actually increase conversions instead of taking credit for sales that would happen anyway. A margin floor caps discounts, and every attributed sale links to a real Shopify order.
I'm a solo developer building Shopify apps, and today I'm launching Clinch.
Here's what bothered me about exit-intent discounts: many apps report every order that uses a discount code as "recovered revenue."
But how do you know those customers weren't going to buy anyway?
That's why I built Clinch.
The idea is simple: when someone is about to leave a Shopify store, Clinch shows a one-time offer on the product they were viewing. Each discount code is unique, single-use, and requires no email.
But the part I'm most interested in is what happens after the offer.
Clinch randomly holds back a percentage of visitors who never see the discount. By comparing both groups, merchants can measure whether those offers actually increase conversions.
And here's something I think matters: the stores using Clinch today don't have enough data yet to draw statistically reliable conclusions. So instead of showing an impressive but potentially misleading number, Clinch tells merchants when the results are still inconclusive.
There's also a margin floor to limit discounts, and every attributed sale can be verified against a real Shopify order.
You can try the interactive demo without installing anything:
If a discount app tells you it recovered $1,000 in sales, would you trust that number? Or would you want to know how many of those purchases actually happened because of the discount?
Thanks for checking out Clinch! 🙌

Who hunted Clinch?
Clinch was hunted by Héctor Hiram Guedea Noriega. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
