CiteLadder
Open-source alternative to Peec & Profound for AI visibility
CiteLadder is now open source (AGPL-3.0). Self-host with Docker and your own API keys, or use Cloud. Track brand mentions and citations across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews. New: MCP with interactive views and approved changes, a public API, evidence-backed Agent drafts, Site Health, AI crawler logs and referral analytics, search data integrations, commerce intelligence and PDF reports. A self-hostable alternative to Peec and Profound. Provider usage costs apply.
Hey Product Hunt, Abhineet here, maker of CiteLadder.
We're back with an open-source release and a lot more than visibility scores. CiteLadder is now self-hostable under AGPL-3.0: run it with Docker Compose, bring your own model and data-provider keys, and keep your data on your own instance. Billing and managed hosting are not part of the open-source release.
The question is still simple: when buyers ask AI about your category, does it mention you, who does it recommend instead, and which pages does it cite?
CiteLadder keeps the actual answers behind the metrics, then connects that evidence with the work you can do next.
What's in this release:
- AI visibility, competitor share of voice, cited URLs, perception and fact checks across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews.
- Repeated prompt sampling and like-for-like audit comparisons, so one changing answer isn't mistaken for a trend.
- An MCP server with interactive views and tools to read and change your project. Changes need permission; larger changes get a preview and confirmation.
- A public API with scoped keys.
- An Agent that turns saved evidence into reviewable briefs, page edits and content drafts. It doesn't publish to your site.
- Site Health crawling, AEO readiness, internal links and ranked Actions.
- AI crawler logs and identifiable AI referral analytics, with Search Console, GA4 and Bing integrations.
- Keyword and backlink research, commerce catalog visibility, and editable overview reports with PDF export.
Think of it as a self-hostable alternative to Peec and Profound, with the evidence and workflow in one place.

Self-hosting has no CiteLadder software fee, but your hosting and provider usage still cost money. The hosted 7-day trial covers limited ChatGPT tracking for one project; Agent access and AI credits are not included.
Would love blunt feedback: what would make you use this for your own site or clients?
