Hey Product Hunt 👋 ChillCheck is a temperature and cooling log for small restaurants — the fridge, freezer and cooling records a health inspector asks for before anything else. Almost every café I looked at still does this on a clipboard hanging by the walk-in. Nobody skips it because they're careless; they skip it because it's 2pm on a Saturday. The record has exactly one job: to exist. So the product isn't really "log temperatures" — it's "make sure today got written down, and print it when someone official asks." Four decisions that shaped it: Notifications are the product, not a feature. Reminders at the times you set, plus one catch-up at the end of the shift if something is still blank. Hard cap of four a day — the moment people start swiping them away, this app is dead. No account, no server, no cloud. Everything lives in local SQLite. It works fully in airplane mode, because kitchens have terrible signal, and because the surest way not to leak a restaurant's data is never to receive it. Backup is a file you save through the OS picker, plus an automatic snapshot that rides along with your iCloud / Android backup. It never tells you food is safe. It records what you measured, shows when a value falls outside the range you set, and prompts you to write down what you did about it. That's a record, not a verdict. Late entries stay marked late. You can backfill a day you missed — you have to be able to, or nobody uses it in a real kitchen — but the log says it was entered late, and corrections leave a timestamp. A log you can quietly rewrite is worth nothing to the person you're showing it to.
