Hey folks!
I built Briefd because I kept seeing the same problem play out with freelancers and small agencies I know: the actual work isn't the hard part, it's keeping clients in the loop about the work. Every week becomes a scramble to remember what happened, format it into something that sounds professional, and send it before the client asks first.
I wanted a tool that turns "what did we do this week" into a clean, consistent update without starting from a blank page every time. Not another project management suite — just the update itself, done right.
The approach changed a fair amount as I built it. I started out thinking this needed to be a full client-portal replacement — logins, dashboards, the works. Pretty quickly I realized that was solving a problem nobody asked for. The actual friction was much smaller and much more frequent: writing the update itself. So I stripped it back to that core loop — fill in progress, blockers, next steps, and Briefd handles the formatting and delivery.
