Who hunted Branchscape?
Branchscape was hunted by Tom. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hey Product Hunt!
I'm the solo developer behind Branchscape, and I'm excited to finally share it with you.
It started with something that bothered me about researching with AI.
I'd ask a question, get several interesting answers, and naturally want to explore a few of them further.
But every follow-up would push the previous answers farther up the conversation.
Before long, I'd be scrolling through a wall of text (or switching between browser tabs), trying to remember what I'd discovered, which options I liked, and how everything connected.
I wanted research to feel more like exploring a map than reading a chat history.
So I built Branchscape.
You start with any question. Branchscape researches it and creates visual answer cards with images, useful insights, and links to sources.
From there, you can:
- Branch from any answer to explore it further without losing the original context.
- Research multiple answers together to compare options or discover connections.
- Move, group, and highlight cards on an infinite canvas.
- Add maps, galleries, and notes to organize what you've learned.
- Export your research as a PNG or PDF, or share a read-only board.
For example, you could start with "Where should I go on vacation?", explore destinations, branch into attractions and hotels, and gradually build your entire trip on one canvas.
Or ask "What animals live in Yosemite National Park?", explore individual species, discover their habitats, and research how they interact.
The same approach works for product comparisons, studying history, exploring scientific topics, or simply following your curiosity.
I've also created public sample boards so you can experience Branchscape before signing up.
Branchscape is live, and I'd love your feedback.
I'm especially curious about two things:
1. Does this feel more natural than a traditional AI chat for exploratory research?
2. What kind of research would you personally use a visual canvas for?
Thanks for checking it out!
