Pipe IDE for Visual Programming
Build, run and debug visual apps in your browser with Python
Other visual tools are too simple or domain-specific, so devs stay on code. Pipe is general-purpose and blends visual logic with Python built into the diagram – visual where it’s clearer, code where it’s precise. The diagram is the running program: build, run, and debug it live. A test bed sends inputs and inspects results; a signal-flow log shows how data moves; reusable templates and structured data domains keep programs organized. Browser-based, no install, no account – your data stays local.
Hi everyone – I’m Oleg, the creator of Pipe.
I’ve spent the last seven years on a question that’s bugged me my whole career: the graphical interface made computers easy for everyone, but programming never got that leap. We still mostly write text. Every visual tool I tried was either too simple for real work or locked to one narrow domain, so serious development stayed in code.
Pipe is my attempt to change that – a general-purpose visual language meant to stand next to text code, not replace it. The idea that shaped it: a program should stay readable by construction. In Pipe, the diagram is the running program. You build it visually, drop into Python wherever you need precise logic, then run and debug it live, watching data flow through the diagram block by block.
Today’s launch is the Pipe IDE – it runs entirely in your browser, no install and no account (your data stays local). It’s an early MVP: the core is there – visual canvas, Python blocks, a test bed to run workflows, a signal-flow log, reusable templates, structured data domains – but there’s a lot still to build, which is exactly why I wanted your eyes on it now.

I’d genuinely value your feedback – especially: what’s kept you from using visual programming before, and what would it take for you to build something real in it? And if you hit rough edges in the MVP, tell me – I’m reading every comment today.
Thanks for taking a look.
– Oleg
