Hey Product Hunt! I'm Clint, and I've been working in Software Infrastructure for quite a while now. I've noticed throughout my years that most early-stage startups have a tenuous relationship with their startup infrastructure. It's often viewed as a necessary, but burdensome aspect of starting up, and are torn about how to set themselves up for long term success (and avoid tech debt) from the get-go without hiring a dedicated infrastructure engineer. This inspired me to create Astra. Astra is an opinionated command-line toolkit designed to put startups on the right foot of infrastructure from their inception. A few points that make Astra potentially more appealing than a fully third party solution: * **Zero Lock-In**: Astra creates your infrastructure (currently only AWS) in your cloud. So when you're ready to hire a platform team or just want a change, there is no painful, costly migration. Your infrastructure always belongs to you. * **Batteries Included**: Astra helps you bootstrap your infrastructure and provides simple tooling to manage it. You'll get infrastructure best practices like "multi-account strategy" from day one and tooling to make it dead simple to interact with. From secret management to logging, Astra includes everything your dev team needs to be successful. * **Included Support**: Anyone who tries to sell you one tool for all your infrastructure is selling snake oil. Astra provides included hands-on contracting support that can help with everything from architecture advice to "Can you help me connect my database to this service"? Bridging the gap between what can be wrapped in a tool and what needs someone to think through a solution. Astra is built with the vision of being deeply embedded within a few select companies and operating as close to an in-house platform team as possible. I'm looking for the first couple of companies to embed deeply with and help with all their infrastructure needs. If that sounds like you please reach out: https://astra.orreri.dev/contact... I've personally wanted something like this for the many startups I joined as a junior engineer and I'm excited to finally be releasing it. I'm thrilled to see what people think and happy to answer any questions. Thanks!

Who hunted Astra?

Astra was hunted by Clint Edwards. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
