Hi Product Hunters! 👋 I’m Damien So, co-founder and CTO of Alternytics.
The idea for Alternytics didn’t start with a business plan; it started with frustration on one of our side projects. We just wanted to know if we had visitors.
Our first reflex was Google Analytics, but for my non-tech co-founder, it was a complex nightmare. Plus, the mandatory cookie banners completely misaligned with our ethical views on data privacy. We loved alternatives like Matomo or Plausible, but adding another monthly subscription for an early-stage side project just wasn't viable for us at the time.
So, we built our own internal tracker. No cookies, strict privacy.
But looking at our first clean dashboard, we realized a hard truth: numbers are just numbers. Analyzing them takes time. That’s when we had the "aha" moment. We integrated Mistral AI to do the heavy lifting. Now, instead of digging through charts, we get a clear, 3-point action plan in our inbox.
Oh, and we also noticed bots were heavily ruining our stats. Instead of hiding them in a black box, we built a transparent filter that separates real human traffic from datacenter bots right on your dashboard.
We built the analytics tool we dreamed of having for our own projects, and today we are opening it to everyone. We will keep improving it.
