Aerini
Local-first workflow automation with plugins and MCP
Aerini is an open source, local-first visual workflow engine. Wire nodes on a canvas and run them by hand, on a schedule, or from a webhook, on your machine or on a headless server. No account, no cloud, no telemetry. Extend it with sandboxed WASM plugins, or let AI agents like Claude Code build workflows through the separate aerini-mcp server. Pre-1.0 and still in development, so expect rough edges.
Hello everyone, I’m the developer of Aerini.
I liked the idea behind n8n, so I built something similar that runs as a local app and adds plugins and MCP. You wire nodes together on a canvas and run them by hand, on a schedule or from a webhook. It works on macOS, Windows and Linux. There’s no account and no telemetry.
Plugins: write your own nodes in Rust, compile to WASM and drop the file onto the window. Each plugin runs sandboxed.
MCP: aerini-mcp lets an agent like Claude Code read the node catalog, write and validate workflows, and save them. It’s a separate download on the GitHub Releases page, not in the desktop installer. Anything that changes a server needs --allow-write. Setup: docs.aerini.org/operations/mcp
Run anywhere: export a workflow as a Linux server package with a systemd service, or use the Docker image.
Open source: AGPL-3.0.
Aerini is pre-1.0 and still in development, so I’ve almost certainly missed some bugs. Builds for macOS (Apple Silicon only) and Windows are unsigned. Some Windows code paths have never run on a real Windows machine, and Linux arm64 is untested. Known issues are listed in the docs.

Who hunted Aerini?
Aerini was hunted by Panchak2d. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
