A9 Voice
Free dictation and bot-free meeting notes for Windows
Hold Ctrl+Space and talk into any app. Dictation is free, no account, no limits. A9 Voice records Teams or Zoom calls from your own PC, with no bot in the meeting. Tag a voice once and every line shows who said it. You get a summary with action items and decisions, and Ctrl+K asks across every meeting. Speak your own language; notes and answers come back in it. Notes are plain files on your PC; run speech offline or bring your own keys. Notes: free for 30 days, then $49 once. No subscription.
By day I run an enterprise platform team. That means back-to-back meetings, and the rest of the day spent talking to AI. Two things kept bugging me:
1. Typing to AI is slow, and it makes you filter what you say. Talking is 2 to 3 times faster. 2. Every meeting-notes tool wanted to send a bot into the call, charge me every month, or both.
So I built A9 Voice for Windows:
• Hold Ctrl+Space and talk into any app. Free. Not a trial. No account. • It records Teams, Zoom or any call from your own PC. No bot joins the meeting. • Tag a voice once and that person is labeled from then on. Voiceprints stay on your machine. • You get a summary with action items and decisions, and Ctrl+K lets you ask across all your meetings.
• Speak your own language. On a non-English Windows it transcribes in that language from the start, and summaries and answers come back in your language. • Notes are plain Markdown files on your PC. Run the speech models offline, or plug in your own API keys.
Dictation is free. Meeting notes are free for 30 days, then $49 once. No subscription.
It's Windows only for now. Mac folks, tell me if you want it.
Heads-up: A9 Voice is from a new publisher, so on the first install Windows shows "Windows protected your PC." Click More info, then Run anyway. Our code signing is in Microsoft's review now, and a Microsoft Store listing is on the way.
I'd love to hear what you'd want next and what breaks. I'll be here all day answering questions.

Who hunted A9 Voice?
A9 Voice was hunted by John Wishon. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
